When you browse

You don't need an account to use BerksVibes, and there are no advertising trackers.

To show businesses how their page is doing, your browser tab gets a random visit id (not a cookie: it disappears when the tab closes). With it we count visits to each business page and taps on its buttons, and we keep the kind of device (phone, tablet, computer), the country and state from the network you connect through (never a street or a city), your language, the name of the site that sent you, and the tag in a shared link (so a business knows a visit came from an Instagram story, say). None of this says who you are.

Our hosting provider also counts pages and countries for the whole site, without cookies.

When you claim a Vibe Perk

We keep your email with the code so we can show it to you again and email you a copy. The business sees how many codes were claimed and used, never your email.

The box about weekly local picks is unchecked unless you tick it.

When you create an account

We keep your email, the name you give, and your password in a form nobody can read (our sign-in provider stores it scrambled). Your email is confirmed once with a code.

When you mark an event as interesting, only you can see your own marks. Businesses and our team see counts.

When you list a business

What you type in the form goes to the BerksVibes team to review. Your name, phone and the best way to reach you stay with the team.

Once we publish the listing, its name, address, phone, website, Instagram, hours, description and photos are public: that is the point of a listing. You can change them from your dashboard.

If your account's email is on the same domain as your business website, we may use that to link the listing to your account.

Who handles your information

The BerksVibes team, and the services the site runs on: our database and sign-in provider (Supabase, in the eastern United States), our hosting provider (Vercel), and the email service that sends codes and notices.

We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete your account, a perk claim, or your listing at any time.
